A Lifetime of Experience
Sandy is a lifelong traveler. She was a foreign exchange student in Oaxaca, Mexico during high school and studied in Florence, Italy in college. A lifelong nomad, she has also lived in Chicago, North Carolina, Maryland, Colorado and the Virgin Islands. She has enjoyed a long career as a writer and graphic designer and owned her own firm, Serio Design, for 12 years. In 2008, her wanderlust kicked in again, and she became an International Tour Manager (CITM), travel designer, travel writer and global explorer. Today, Sandy splits her time between world travel and her home in Colorado, where she enjoys hiking, biking, skiing and all that the Rocky Mountain life has to offer. |
Your Tour Director
From 2008 to 2012, Sandy focused on small group luxury travel as a busy consultant with a Denver-based tour company. There, she scouted locations, designed exciting itineraries and was a Senior Tour Captain, leading hundreds of small group tours throughout the world. During that time, Sandy also created a series of videos, blogs and newsletters focusing on travel. In 2011, Sandy created Che Bella Tours, putting her own personal touch on trips of a lifetime. Her years as a tour director and tour operator inspired her to write The Art of Traveling Italy. An Insider's Guide to Traveling Fearlessly and Wisely. |
My life on tour is a whirlwind of dealing with everything from coffee to Caravaggio, confirmations to counseling, navigating motor coaches, attending to guests, in-depth commentary, stand up comedy and a lot of “I’ll be happy to take care of that for you.” Typical days have included 32,000 steps, great wine, bad airports, unexpected treats and keeping the balls in the air ... all without missing a beat. And I love it. The more we grow, the more we change and evolve. I started Che Bella Tours because I realized there is a demand for more tour experiences where you travel with like-minded people and explore personal passions. Hosting this celebration is one of the joys of being a Che Bella Tour Director. On our tours, we take you to our favorite restaurants, guide you through the menu, inspire you to choose something you’ve never tried before, choose the perfect wine pairings and throw in some local delicacies to broaden your palate and surprise you a bit. When we roll our sleeves up for a cooking lesson, savor a wine tasting or enjoy a local farm or market tour, be sure to know you’ll go home with a new knowledge that will draw you under the country's spell and increase your hunger for more. |
Dinner on Your Own
Che Bella tours are specifically paced so you have plenty of leisure time. We have included dinners as a group as well as nights on your own. Your tour director can always recommend a variety of choices and will be happy to make reservations for you. Of course, you are also invited to join your tour director to explore new and interesting finds. When traveling independently with our Concierge Travel Services, your final documents will include a long list of restaurant suggestions. |
