Day 2. A Day in Berlin
This morning, we'll meet our local guide in the lobby of the hotel and venture out for a private tour of the main sights of Berlin. Berlin is a big city so it will be both a driving and walking tour, which will last about 6 hours. There is a lot to see in Berlin. We'll focus on WWII, with an in-depth look at the reminders of this period in history, such as The Führerbunker (Hitler’s Bunker), Moltke Bridge, Checkpoint Charlie, the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag.
You’ll have the afternoon to enjoy Berlin. Your Tour Director, of course, will have suggestions for what you can do today in Berlin, and would be happy to take you where you need to go.
Tonight we re-visit the Brandenburg Gate, which is lit up at sundown and makes a beautiful start to your evening. Stroll down Unter den Linden towards the Museum Island or stop by one of the restaurants on the Gendarmenmarkt, enjoying a view of the brilliantly lit German and French Domes and Schauspielhaus.
Tonight: Dinner on your own in Berlin.
About dinner on your own: On every tour, we have included dinners as a group and nights on your own. The tour has been specifically paced so you have plenty of alone time. You, of course, are always invited to join your Tour Director to explore new, interesting finds. We have a lot of recommendations or can make reservations for you at a restaurant of your choice.
